Project Description

Made Portraits

Client In Focus

This is an example of smaller ad hoc project work. Made Portraits is a portrait studio run by highly talented photographer Neil Bremner. Neil has a keen marketing mind and makes astute use of social media to promote his studio. He also has a great track record in winning industry awards for his photographs, and is an active charitable fundraiser. When he decided to bring all this together to generate some PR it was On Point Copywriting he turned to for the press release. We interviewed him and wrote up the press release. Two local newspapers picked it up within a week and Made Portraits featured in a double page spread – exactly what Neil wanted.

What They Say

Where to start? If you need a Copywriter then you quite simply start here!

Now let me tell you why. My photography business has spent the last two years building up a strong presence both via my website and Social Media and because I have written everything myself, there has been a distinct and recognisable style to my posts. As I’m based in Glastonbury, I write a lot about my family and push the local family business aspect and always try to keep it light hearted, as that’s what people respond to.
This year, I wanted to create a press release to send out to local papers and magazines that spoke about the achievements of the studio over the last few months in terms of awards but that also gave a little background on the studio itself.
I felt I would probably make it sound too personal which is why I wanted someone to do it for me. I spoke to On Point Copywriting, sent through way too much information, and the truth is having never used a copywriting service before, what I expected back was something that covered my points that was well written, but would be a little disconnected.

Oh how I was wrong!

I opened the press release while stood outside my daughter’s school waiting to pick her up and giggled in glee at how amazing this person was that they had written about. I sound incredible! I then read it out to four mums I was chatting to who agreed that the press release sounded great and then they commented that it absolutely fitted with the studios personality. On Point Copywriting had somehow managed to tune in to the studio’s personality and then produce the most incredible summary of my last few months.
